Frequently asked questions

The locket

What are the lockets and chains made of?

The lockets and chains are made of high-quality 316L jewellery-grade stainless steel. It doesn't tarnish and keeps its colour with proper care. The material is also a good choice for sensitive skin. The chains come in fixed lengths of 50, 60 or 80 cm.

What locket sizes do you offer and how many pieces do they hold?

We offer three locket sizes:

  • S – 20 mm outer diameter and 13.5 mm inner diameter. Suitable for about 3 small pieces with crystals, or 1 larger charm with crystals.
  • M – 25 mm outer diameter and 17.5 mm inner diameter. Looks good with up to about 5 pieces, and charms and crystals can be combined.
  • L – 30 mm outer diameter and 22.5 mm inner diameter. Holds roughly 5–7 pieces, depending on their size.

The number is a guide, because different charms come in different sizes. The size of each charm is listed in its product description.

How do I choose the right locket size?

The choice depends on your height, build and how you like to wear your jewellery. The difference between the sizes is about 5 mm. Even the largest size, L, is only slightly bigger than a 2-euro coin and doesn't look bulky, even on a petite frame.

If you're unsure, take a look at our ready-made combinations. They're the easiest guide to how the different sizes, charms and crystals look together.

What colours do your lockets come in?

We offer lockets in polished silver-tone metal and in rose gold with a soft copper tint, without a strong yellow cast. With proper care, the finish and the metal keep their appearance over time.

Is the locket see-through, and how does it close?

Yes. The standard locket has clear glass on both sides. This lets you see both the charms you've chosen and the colour or pattern of the clothing behind the piece.

The locket opens with a hinged lid and closes with four magnets that hold it securely while you wear it.

Is the glass scratch- and break-resistant?

The glass resists normal everyday scratches, and the charms inside don't damage it. Still, it is glass and can break from a hard knock or a fall from height, so we recommend wearing and storing it with care.

Can I open my locket?

Yes. The locket consists of a base and a lid. On the screw-top version, the lid turns anticlockwise; on the magnetic models, the lid is lifted off gently. After swapping or adding pieces, make sure the locket is closed securely.

Care and wear

Can I get the locket wet?

316L steel is durable, but we don't recommend getting the locket wet for long. Water can get inside and collect around the charms, and the glass is glued to the base, so prolonged exposure to water can affect how well it stays in place.

We recommend taking the piece off before bathing, swimming and sport.

How should I clean and store my locket?

If you wear it often, clean the locket inside and out. You can use a soft microfibre cloth and, if needed, warm water with a little soap. After cleaning, dry all parts very thoroughly.

We don't recommend direct contact with perfume, creams or cosmetics. When you're not wearing it, keep the locket in a jewellery box or in its original box.

Is the locket suitable for a child?

Yes, as long as the choice suits the child's age and their ability to look after the jewellery. A locket can also be a sentimental gift that doesn't have to be worn all the time — for example for a first birthday, or as a keepsake with a personal message from the parents to be kept for the future.

For young children, wearing jewellery should always be at an adult's discretion and under their supervision.

Charms and crystals

How do I choose the charms, and can I change them?

You choose every charm yourself. You can combine charms from different collections, colours and themes, so the locket tells exactly your story.

The charms sit loose inside and can easily be swapped at any time. You can change the look of your locket to suit the occasion, your outfit or your mood. It's perfectly fine to own more charms than fit in the locket at once.

What happens if I order more charms than will fit?

We'll place a suitable combination in the locket, and the remaining charms will be packed separately in the box. That way you can swap them yourself and create different combinations.

When choosing, pay attention to the size listed in each charm's description.

Do the charms move or turn over inside the locket?

Yes, the charms move freely inside and can change places as you wear it. Their sizes are chosen so that most designs don't flip over easily. Some very small, thin pieces may turn partially.

What are the charms made of?

Depending on the design, charms can be made of various metals, plastic or enamelled materials. They are protected inside the locket and don't come into direct contact with skin, perfume or the body's natural oils, which helps them keep their appearance.

Can I order a locket without charms, or only extra charms?

Yes. You can order a locket without charms, as well as extra charms for a locket you already own. We add new collections regularly, and the pieces are designed to work with the matching locket sizes in future orders too.

Can I add crystals, and how should I combine them?

Yes. The crystals are universal and can be used in any locket size.

  • Small crystals beautifully fill the gaps around the charms.
  • Large crystals add a bolder accent of colour.

We recommend choosing colours that go with the charms and the colour of the locket. You can also order several colours to change the look of your piece.

Engraving

What is the engraving plate?

The plate is a small, smooth metal disc that can be personally engraved. It sits at the back of the locket and forms a solid back, so once it's added the locket is no longer see-through on both sides.

The engraved text stays visible behind the charms and turns the locket into an even more personal piece.

What can be engraved?

We can engrave a short text or a small vector symbol suitable for engraving, such as a heart, an infinity sign or another simple geometric shape.

We don't automatically correct the spelling, grammar or punctuation of the text you send. We engrave the text exactly as provided, so please check it carefully before confirming.

Can I see the engraving before it's made?

For engraving, we can send you a preview of the text via Viber or WhatsApp before production, when this is needed to confirm the design.

Can I combine engraving, charms and crystals?

Yes — and that's exactly the combination we recommend for a more complete look. For example, with an L locket and an engraved plate we recommend about 3–4 charms, so they can sit at the bottom and the text stays visible. Crystals can be used as an extra accent of colour.

Personalisation and chains

Can I create a fully personalised locket?

Yes. You choose every part of the piece:

  • the size and colour of the locket;
  • charms that tell your story;
  • crystals and colour accents;
  • a chain in your preferred length;
  • an engraved text or a suitable symbol.

If you don't know where to start, browse the ready-made combinations and use a favourite design as a base, then swap individual pieces to suit the person or the occasion.

How do I choose the chain length?

The chains come in fixed lengths:

  • 50 cm – the shortest option, sits closer to the neck;
  • 60 cm – falls roughly at the upper chest;
  • 80 cm – a longer option that falls below the chest.

The exact position depends on the wearer's height and build. For children we usually recommend 50 cm, but the choice should suit their age, height and how the piece will be worn.

Is the chain included in the price?

With ready-made combinations the chain is usually included when this is stated for the specific product. When you create your piece yourself from individual parts, the chain is added separately to the chosen locket.

You can order a locket without a chain, use your own, or buy an extra chain separately.

Ordering and delivery

How does my order arrive?

Orders over 20 € come in a gift box with a ribbon.

Each order includes a certificate and a blank card on which you can write a personal message yourself. With every locket we also add a microfibre cleaning cloth.

Gift wrapping and extra accessories are subject to the stated conditions and to availability at the time of dispatch.

Can you send the locket directly as a gift?

Yes. We can send the order directly to the person the gift is for. We don't include any document showing the price in the parcel.

If the order is paid in advance by bank transfer, it can be sent to the recipient without cash on delivery. The enclosed card is blank, so you can add a personal message yourself.

How long does delivery take?

Orders are usually processed within 1–2 working days and sent by courier. Delivery usually takes between 1 and 5 working days.

A personally engraved plate can extend the processing time to up to 5 working days.

How can I pay?

You can pay cash on delivery, by bank transfer, or by Visa or Mastercard debit/credit card.

Returns and warranty

Can I return or exchange my order?

Yes, non-personalised products can be returned or exchanged within the applicable withdrawal period, provided they are in their original condition and packaging. Return costs are paid by the customer, except in the case of a justified complaint.

For a product with a personally engraved plate, the other non-personalised pieces can be returned or exchanged under the applicable terms, but the engraved plate itself is made especially for you and cannot be returned because of a change of mind.

If an engraving mistake is our fault, we will help with a correction or replacement. If the text is engraved exactly as submitted by the customer, including spelling and punctuation, this is not considered a production error.

What should I do if I receive a broken, damaged or incomplete product?

Contact us as soon as possible after receiving the parcel and send photos of the product and the packaging.

For courier delivery to an address or office, we recommend using the inspect/test option when it's available and reporting any visible transport damage straight away. For BOX NOW deliveries, let us know as soon as possible after opening the parcel if anything is missing or damaged.

The sooner we hear from you, the easier it is to find the cause and help.

Is there a warranty and what does it cover?

In case of a manufacturing defect, such as the glass coming unglued or another problem not caused by use, we will replace the item within 2 months of receiving the locket.

Damage caused by dropping, knocks, hard pulling, breaking or other improper use is not considered a manufacturing defect. In such cases, contact us and we'll see what repair or replacement options we can offer.

Do you offer spare parts?

Yes. When needed, we can send suitable spare parts if they're available, and some of them can be replaced by you. Contact us with a photo and a short description of the problem so we can find the best solution.
